Hey guys,
First off I want to start off by saying that this game has been a blast. You guys made this an awesome experience for me and I look forward to the upcoming roast . I won’t lie, there is a part of me that is pretty surprised to be sitting here in the final 2, but at the same time I definitely earned my spot. I feel that what got me to the end was a combination of self awareness, social skills, and the ability to keep a level head in difficult situations.
My game was oriented around two main priorities. The first is that I needed to be able to integrate myself into a strong and dependable alliance – this was obviously Hell’s Angels. This was the alliance that I was 100% loyal to, and with good reason. Not only did we get along phenomenally, but having both Lydia and Eddie on my side paid off for me time and again. It ensured my safety three of the four times I was on the block (the first f13 round, as well as f6 and f4). As a team we functioned well together from start to finish and the setup of the alliance was awesome for me in particular because for a lot of the game I was basically the glue that held Lydia and Eddie together. If we had made f3 together, I was very likely to be in the f2.
In terms of how I dealt with those who were not in my core alliance, my goal was to foster just enough of a relationship so that they would consider keeping me around down the line as a potential vote, but not enough of a relationship to tie me down to that person. This was important because I knew it was a very real possibility that Hell’s Angels would get broken up. In that case, I didn’t want to be left with nothing. I think Nathan, Jason, and Renny are all examples of people that I could have worked with more intensively if I had to change gears.
Ultimately, a lot of my game was about positioning and avoiding the line of fire. I know I might get criticized for playing an under the radar game, but playing UTR successfully isn't easy and there were major obstacles that I had to overcome along the way.
For starters, coming into this game I knew I was an outsider. I was entering a game where most of the players already knew each other and had played together in ORGs for years. I only knew 4 people out of the 16, and of those 4 I only really had pull with 2 (Lydia and Jason). I needed to establish connections and I had to do it quickly. I was definitely successful in that regard – throughout the first week I was able to establish very strong relationships with Jessica, Rachel, Dave, and Eddie. Not long after, I was in Hell’s Angels, a solid alliance that I was able to depend upon throughout the entire game.
I also went through this game being in an obvious pairing with Lydia. Although in most ways this ended up being a huge help, it is also could have easily created a large target for me. I don’t think it would have really been possible for Lydia and I to hide our relationship, so instead we had to embrace the pairing and work it to the best of our abilities. I tried to keep us out of the line of fire by to giving the impression that Lydia and I were a package vote that was up for grabs, but what I really had to count on the fact that people would prioritize eliminating threats over eliminating a pair. Turns out I was right to make this assumption because it took until the final 4 for someone to actually nominate us together.
Probably the biggest obstacle of the game for me was Pandora’s box. Not only did Hells Angels fail to obtain any of the three powers, but the powers all went an opposing alliance of Renny, Sarah and Will. When I found out that they had the powers, I knew at least one was going to target me. At final 6, I was ambushed by Will, but because of my alliances in the house I was able to skate by without a worry.
Anyways, I know I was not the most biggest character or outspoken player in the game but I did put a TON into this. I accomplished a lot through my stay in the house and kept my head in the game the whole time. I hope that you guys decide to vote for who you genuinely think played the best game, and I look forward to your questioning.
Good luck Eddie, and may the best sinner win.
